Beans Cup 2026

A three-player, multi-discipline axe-throwing team tournament.

Venue → Region → Cup Find your IATF region

How it Works

Players form teams of three. Assign one player to each position:

  • One-and-a-Half Clutcher
  • Big Axe Clutcher
  • Premier Clutcher

Each match has three rounds of six throws (18 throws total). Each player throws twice per round.

Throw Order & Rotation

Round Throw Order (six throws)
Round 1 Premier → One-and-a-Half → Big Axe → Premier → One-and-a-Half → Big Axe
Round 2 Big Axe → Premier → One-and-a-Half → Big Axe → Premier → One-and-a-Half
Round 3 One-and-a-Half → Big Axe → Premier → One-and-a-Half → Big Axe → Premier

Players rotate which discipline they throw each round (so no one repeats the same role in all three rounds).

Path to the Cup

Teams first compete to represent their venue. Venue winners face off to represent their region. Regional champions earn bragging rights and the Beans Cup itself. Inter-venue and inter-region matches may be done through discord or zoom, to allow for easier scheduling.

Schedule

  • Jan–Feb 2026: Intra-venue matches (compete against other teams at your home venue).
  • After intra-venue concludes: Inter-venue playoffs (venue winners advance within each region).
  • Then: Inter-region finals for the Beans Cup.

Exact dates are set by host venues—check with your organizer.

Use the Matchup Generator

The matchup generator organizes who throws when. Enter team names and the three players (by position) and track scores live.

Tie-Breakers

  • If a round ends tied, run a tie-breaker in the discipline assigned to that round:
    • Round 1: Big Axe
    • Round 2: One-and-a-Half
    • Round 3: Premier
  • Teams alternate throws until one team has a higher score. If both hit bull, they may attempt clutches.
  • Any player may take a tie-breaker throw, but no one may throw twice until all teammates have thrown once—and never twice in a row.
